Acupuncture and integrated body-based support for stress, tension, pain and nervous system overwhelm

A steady, personalised approach to help you feel calmer, more comfortable in your body and more like yourself again.

Finding support for stress, tension, pain, sleep, and overall wellbeing through acupuncture and integrated body-based work.

This might feel familiar

You’re functioning —
but you're not really comfortable in yourself.

Your body is holding tension that doesn’t fully go away, ever.

Your mind feels busy, wired, or hard to switch off.

You’re tired, but proper rest never quite seems to happen.

You may have tried different approaches already, but you are still                                                                                                                    feeling like something underneath hasn’t fully shifted.

You don’t need to be in crisis.

But you may know that something isn’t quite right — and you want to address it properly.

What we’re working towards

This work isn’t just about relieving symptoms temporarily.

The aim is to help your system move towards a more settled and sustainable baseline.

Possible shifts include:

  • less physical tension
  • refreshing sleep and recovery
  • a calmer nervous system
  • feeling less overwhelmed
  • more ease in your body
  • feeling more present and like yourself again
  • being more able to respond to life rather than constantly reacting to it

These changes often happen gradually — but they can become deeply stabilising over time.

Excellent. My treatment with Michael has changed my sleep routines so I’ve changed from sleeping 4 hours to now sleeping 7 hours a night. This has impacted my life hugely as I can now function so much better in my job.

How sessions work

Each session is tailored to you, but grounded in the same core approach.

Acupuncture is a central part of the work, with other supportive approaches integrated where appropriate.

Depending on what’s needed, sessions include:

  • acupuncture
  • gentle body-based awareness and movement
  • nervous system regulation support
  • a calm, private space where you don’t need to explain everything perfectly or share more than you want to.
  • stillness and integration time

Sometimes sessions are quieter.

Sometimes there is more interaction.

The work is guided by what your system seems to need — rather than following a rigid routine.

Why this approach feels different

Many treatments focus on trying to “fix” symptoms as quickly as possible.

This work takes a steadier approach.

Rather than chasing symptoms alone, we work with the wider patterns of stress, tension and regulation that may be keeping you stuck.

That means:

  • not forcing outcomes
  • not rushing the process
  • working with your body rather than against it

It’s often a subtler process — but one that can lead to deeper and more lasting change.

Is this right for you?

This approach tends to work best if you:

  • are open to a slower, deeper process
  • want the kind of change that feels sustainable rather than temporary
  • are willing to listen to your body, even if that feels unfamiliar at first
  • value a personalised and integrated approach

If you’re looking for something extremely fast, prescriptive or symptom-only focused, this may not be the right fit.

You don’t need to keep pushing through constant tension alone.

Or get in touch if you’d like to ask a question before booking.

About Michael

I’m not here simply to deliver acupuncture.

My work is about helping people who feel stuck in stress, tension or overwhelm find a way back to ease, balance and connection with themselves.

The approach I offer combines acupuncture with wider body-based work, shaped around the individual.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know beforehand which treatment I need?

No — we can decide together based on your needs and what feels most appropriate.

Is this suitable if I mainly feel stressed or overwhelmed?

Yes. Many people come for treatment because they feel constantly tense, wired, exhausted or disconnected from themselves.

Is acupuncture always included?

Acupuncture is a core part of my work, though sessions may also include other supportive approaches where helpful.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on what’s going on for you. Some people benefit from a short course of treatment while others prefer ongoing support.

What should I wear for a treatment?

Wearing loose and comfortable clothing makes it easy to move when lying on a treatment table. It also means that clothing doesn’t need to be taken off to reach parts of the back or knees for example.

Where do I park my car?

There is plenty of free parking at the Workhouse Quarter where the Amatsu Clinic is located. Follow the signs from the main road.
