Hello, I'm Michael Cordel...

My Acupuncture & Yoga Experience

I grew up with plenty of freedom to lead an active life. After some injuries sport took the back burner since every attempt at returning to sports ended in recurring injuries.

So for a number of years I didn't practise what I am preaching nowadays. Exercise became sporadic, ailments only got treated when really necessary and when they were interfering with life.

In my practice I had the privilege to observe people in their eighties and nineties who proved the ancient advice:

balance of activity and rest, moderation in food, sound sleep and maintenance of a relaxed mind brings health.

I discovered and began to practise Yoga regularly. Combing Acupuncture wisdom and Yoga philosophy proved to be the way forward. I used the regular exercises and breathing practices of Yoga to regain fitness.

My love for nature inspires my interest in helping people recover their connection to health, healing and balance. Yoga and Conscious Breathing are useful for healing, and to anchor the mind. We can use them at almost any time and in any place.

My Acupuncture Career

The International College of Oriental Medicine in West Sussex gave me a substantial foundation in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture (both TCM and Stems & Branches 5 Element acupuncture).

I was also exposed to different styles of acupuncture by attending seminars with practitioners from around the world.

Learning AcuNova and Eye Acupuncture after Boel added a new level to my treatments of painful conditions. Being able to provide effective help for degenerative eye conditions (NOT using needles in the eyes) can provide help and hope when little else can.

During the first 15 years of practice I was impressed by the gentleness and versatility of KHT (Korean Hand Therapy) and by Japanese styles of Acupuncture. The Kiiko Matsumoto method and KHT both follow the principles of Traditional East Asian Acupuncture, but have embraced modern scientific medical thinking and research.

I enriched my Swedish Massage training by learning about Chinese Tui Na manipulations as well as completing the Rhythmical Massage course.

I have practised traditional and modern approaches to acupuncture and massage for over 3 decades. I appreciate the individuality of human lives.

My aim is for my clients to supercharge their health and achieve their wellbeing goals by offering effective techniques as well as caring and encouraging support that ignites the body's deep healing within.
